Description
BIG VIEW to see the details
It's funny, normally I avoid touching an iron to do my laudry *grrrrrr*
But once I've started ironing wax-pictures with it it's hard for me to stop
This pic has suddenly showed up when I wasen't expecting it.
Aktually even though I do not like the colors I could not just lay it aside... there's something to it... It looks awfully cold and frosty just like it was here in Germany this Winter.

Traditional Encaustic Wax-Art
------------------------------------
Technique = Enaustic Waxart
Tools = Lithe Iron for applying the wax
Tools = Knife + knitting needles as scarping tools
Colors = wax Hobbyline + Stockmar colored beewax blocks
Paper = special glossy printerpaper card
Original Size = A6 (postcard size)
Time to draw it = about 2 hours
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Sky and ice I've made as usual by applying hot molten liquid wax with an iron to the surface of a white postcard.
By applying und distributing drops ofblue wax with the tip of the iron I created the bird later on.
After hardening of all the wax I set to work on the finer details of the bird. By using a small pointed kitchen knive and + knitting needles I scratched and lifted away parts of the hardened black to reveal the white plain paper surfice beneath . This way I worked out the finer details of the wings the outlines of the bird.
Was a lot of fun !
